Bill Pearson
Tai Chi & Shaolin Do Instructor
I started my martial arts journey in 1995 in Tae Kwon Do. After receiving my 1st Dan Black Belt and teaching Tae Kwon Do for several years, I began studying Yang style Tai Chi. In 2000, I started training with George Haynes from England in Lee Style Tai Chi. In 2009 Sifu Chan Huang came to Cedar Rapids, offering to teach ShaolinDo to anyone willing to learn. From Sifu Chan’s first class until he moved in 2017, I practiced ShaolinDo and Tai Chi and internal marital arts with Sifu Chan, learning all I could, achieving my 2nd Dan Black Belt in 2017. I still teach 4 classes a week trying to pass my love and knowledge of ShaolinDo and Tai Chi on to anyone willing to learn, just like Sifu Chan did for me, 8 years ago. I am still a student of ShaolinDo and Tai Chi too, and I learn as much from teaching as I do from my own training.
